Is this the greatest volleyed goal of all time? In the 1988 Euros match Netherlands v Russia a high swinging cross came in from the left and dropped to Van Basten towards the edge of the penalty area. Watch the video again to remind yourself what he did with it. This design is taken from a different angle but Kandinsky's lines emphasise the instant change of direction of the ball. Amazing.
