Roker Park 'Grand Stand Balcony' Print - by Ground Designs

  • Description

Designed by football ground architect extraordinaire Archibald Leitch in 1929, the balcony of Roker Park's Grand Stand was an iconic sight for Sunderland fans and visiting supporters alike, until Sunderland moved to the Stadium of Light in 1997 and Roker Park was sadly demolished.

Such was its place in Sunderland folklore, however, that part of the balcony was salvaged and lives on in a car park at the new stadium.

As a former draughtsman I have studied Leitch's original structural steelwork drawings and recreated his beautiful balcony in this original digital art print - a unique piece of artwork or gift for any discerning Sunderland fan.
