In a golden 5 year spell at Ipswich, John Wark received many accolades for his consistent excellence. But this European campaign of 1980-81 was probably the pinnacle. Scoring a competition record 14 goals in helping Ipswich Town to win the UEFA Cup, he was voted European Young Player and PFA Player of The Year. But it wasn’t just his fellow players that appreciated his skill, energy and goal scoring ability, the fans loved him as well. And still do.
