Description

Bramall Lane began life in 1855 as the home of Sheffield Cricket Club. Football was first played here in 1862 when the world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC, took on local rivals Hallam at the Lane in an early staging of the world's oldest local derby. Following bumper gate receipts for hosting an FA Cup semi-final between Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion in March 1889, the cricket club decided to form its own football club to cash in on the popularity of the winter game, and so Sheffield United were born.

The two clubs lived in harmony for many years until, eventually, United outgrew their founders and built over the cricket pitch, turning Bramall Lane into a conventional football ground in 1975, and (in the words of author Simon Inglis), "robbing Sheffield, and British sport generally, of one its most eccentric and historic arenas."

My own Grandad was a regular at the Lane for both football and cricket, and he will have remembered it best how I've recreated it here, in its early 1970's layout, just prior to the building of the South Stand on the cricket pitch.

A unique piece of artwork or gift for any discerning Blades fan.

Sizing

We all know that some like to wear their T-shirts like Arjen Robben and others prefer the old-school baggy (90’s style), so make sure to look at our sizing guide before you make your purchase.

If you’re not sure what your chest size is then get a fabric tape measure, wrap it around you under your armpits and take your chest measurement in centimetres.
