Di Canio's Most Memorable Moments

The Scissor-Kick

The 26th of March marks 17 years since Paulo scored that incredible goal against Wimbledon.  Di Canio won West Ham's player of the season and that goal was named goal of the season.

It was a crazy attempt from a crazy player, but what a goals from what a player, lets take a look at some of his other memorable moments.

The Kneeslide
In only the Italians second game in charge of the Black Cats he masterminded Sunderland's first victory at St James' Park in 13 years. The win moved Sunderland 3 points clear of the relegation zone and Di Canio let everyone know how pleased he was.
The Penalty
During a frustrating match against strugglers Bradford Di Canio had several clear penalties turned down. Bradford where 4-2 up and a furious Paulo ended up sitting on the floor telling Redknapp to sub him off who in return tells him in return to get on with it.
Eventually he roused himself and when Paul Kitson won a penalty for West Ham, Di Canio saw his chance to get his own back. However a young Frank Lampard had already grabbed the ball and had decided that he was taking it. After a long and heated debate, Lampard backed off, Di Canio scored and West Ham fought back to win 5-4. Frank grabbed the winner set up by Di Canio.
The Fight
Swindon player Leon Clarke got into an argument with the fitness coach after the a defeat to Southampton in the Carling Cup. Di Canio appeared to try and diffuse the situation but the pair ended up coming to blows down the tunnel. Clarke never played for Swindon again even though he only joined the club 11 days earlier.
The Catch
It wasn't always arguments and fights though. Here Di Canio shows great sportsmanship catching the ball instead of scoring to make sure the opposition goal keeper isn't seriously injured.
